This is my set of three. I created two cups and a bowl. The new skill I learned was how to make my projects similar in shape, size, and glaze. I glazed this by painting them white then splotching black over. The art element is color because my colors are bright and vibrant. The design element is pattern because the splotches create a unique pattern. The set of three creates a calming effect with the light blue and white colors.

This is my frankenpot. My partner for this was Emily Shwabe. I threw the top piece and the bottom piece and Emily threw the middle piece. We measured all the pieces to make sure they fit perfectly. We sanded our frankenpot so everything was smooth. When we glazed it we both wanted to try something new so we painted it in white then painted rainbow lines to give the project a more exciting feeling.
This is my tall project that is approximately 8 inches tall and 4 inches wide. I glazed this by painting flowers on with bottle glaze then putting clear over everything. The new skill I learned was throwing two separate projects and attaching them. The art element is color because my colors are bright and vibrant. The design element is lines because I used them to create flowers and it unifies the separate pieces. The feeling of this is spring with the flowers.
This is a wheel bowl that is about 3 inches tall and 5 inches wide. It has a smooth surface and rainbow horizontal lines on the outside with a water color flower inside. I glazed it by using water colors, then painting clear glaze over it. The new skill I learned was using water colors and making them show up better. The art element I used is color, I used lighter colors inside and darker colors on the outside to create the allusion of the bowl appearing larger. The design element I used is balance because the flower is balanced on the inside. The meaning of this is spring with the flower and variety of colors.
This is a wheel vase that is about 5 inches tall and 3 inches wide. It has a smooth surface and is white with blue. I glazed it by painting white then splotching black with a sponge. The new skill I learned was how to choke. The art element I used is color because it shows unity. The design element I used is balance because everything is balanced and simple. The meaning of this is a relaxed feeling with the light blue, calming color.
This is a wheel bowl that is about 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide. It has a smooth surface and green splotched over a white surface with black inside. I glazed it by painting white on then splotching on green then painting black on the inside. The new skill I learned was pulling up because I managed to make this bowl taller than both my previous ones. The art element I used is color, I used three different colors to define the bowl. The design element I used is balance because everything is balanced with the splotches on the outside and the black on the inside. The meaning of this is exciting with the different colors and pattern.
This is my lidded project, it is 4 inches tall, 3 inches wide and smooth surface blue/white. I glazed it by painting 2 coats of white glaze on it then dipping a sponge in black and pressing it around the surface of the project. The new skill I learned was making a lid. The art element I used is texture because it really makes the surface of the project stand out. The design element I used is contrast because I used elements that don't go together with the splotches of black. The meaning of this is simple yet exciting since I only have one main color but have something unique with the sploshes.
